DESCRIPTION

The delegates will acquire the knowledge and skills related to the rescue of victims of drowning in a swimming pool.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE SEMINAR

• Learning how to enter and exit the water; rescue by throwing an object.
• Introduction and formulation of safety rules in the pool.
• Demonstration of swimming skills and techniques. Human chain rescue.
• Application of rescue rules & calling for help.
• Demonstrate skills of rescuing an unconscious victim on the surface and frontal rescue of a conscious victim.
• Demonstrate judgment skills.
• Apply: Lifesaving whistles, in and out of the water signals, hooking – unhooking. (Theory & Practice)
• Application of flotation and victim search techniques .
• Demonstration of rescue skills with rescue tube and spiral board.
• Demonstrate skills in dealing with fainting or suffocation cramp in water and rescue techniques.
• Knowledge and demonstration of skills: stabilisation grip, how to lift a victim from the water and CPR in water using a life-saving device.
• Demonstrate victim rescue skills by actual contact without the use of an assistive device.
